Things To Do In Sechelt with Young Kids

Sechelt is a great place to getaway with your family. It’s beautiful and only a 45 minute ferry ride from Vancouver. Sechelt has so many beautiful spots. The trees are tall, there’s a mix of sand and pebble beaches and there are so many trails to explore. We spent 5 days in Sechelt, during a long weekend. I highly recommend making a ferry reservation. If you can’t make a reso, expect to wait around 4 hours to board with your car. Bring lots of snacks and some activities!

Things to do in Sechelt with Young Kids
  1. Have breakfast at the Basted Baker. They’ve got a short menu of Eggs Bennies, Hashes and some really yummy baked goods.
  2. Go for a walk around Davis Bay. We liked Mission Point Park and we heard that Brookman Park, an off leash park (across the street) was pretty nice too, you can count go on a scavenger hunt and spot all the troll trees (all the trees with faces carved into them).
  3. Run around the playground at Friendship Park in the Village or the playground at Porpoise Bay Campground
  4. Visit the Farmers Market on Saturdays in the Village

Bonus: this is one you might not be able to do with young ones, but kayaking around Trail Islands is fun, you may even spot a whale!
