The Urban Mom’s Kid Friendly Fall Bucket List

There are plenty of fun and interesting places in and around Vancouver worth exploring this Fall that are kid friendly. Fall in Vancouver is beautiful and there’s lots to do before a long season of rain. Pumpkin U-Picks, Apple U-Picks, Corn Mazes and Gardens are busy on the weekends, but if you’re able to go on a weekday morning, you can expect less people. Other alternatives would be a nice hike, trail walk, park or visit a farm!

Visit a Corn Maze

Bose Family Farms, Taves Family Farm and Laity Pumpkin Patch have some great attractions like a corn maze, as well as a pumpkin patch.

Go on a Nature Walk

Reifel Bird Sanctuary in Delta is beautiful in the Fall and is fun for kids who love feeding ducks and birds. Capilano Regional Park by the Cleveland Dam or Sasamat Lake Loop in Port Moody are also so beautiful this time of year.

Visit an apple orchard

Every year we go to Taves Family Farm right before Thanksgiving to pick apples for apple pie and just to snack on. Fresh apples right off the tree are so delicious! We also take our annual family photo in between the trees. It’s tradition! 🙂

Go to a Pumpkin Patch

For pumpkins, we really like Emma Lea Farms in Delta, Westham Island Herb Farm in Delta. Southlands Heritage Farm in Vancouver has some friendly animals.

Make some S’Mores!

Most of Metro Vancouver’s fire ban has been lifted and the fire danger rating is low. Call your local fire department to confirm or visit the link below. You can only burn beach bonfires in designated Metro Vancouver fire rings. I know there are a few at Centennial Beach in Tsawwassen, so bring your blankets, bundled firewood, pack a picnic dinner and have s’mores for dessert! Leaf Pile!

Who can make the biggest leaf pile?? Our kids love jumping in piles of crunchy leaves. We always go to Hastings Mill Park in Vancouver to play at the playground and they have some of the biggest, crunchiest leaves!

For Parks, More Trails and Bike Parks

I love following Jaclyn & her boys at @Braveandfreeadventures They post some really good ideas for trails, parks and playgrounds! Give her a follow!

Happy Adventuring!
