3 Things That Will Turn Your Clothes into Maternity Clothes

There are some amazing stores out there with great maternity options and style. But maybe you don’t have a bunch of money to spend on a whole new Maternity wardrobe. I’ve listed 3 main things that you can use to turn the clothes you have into Maternity clothes. These few items will make sure you’re comfortable and still feel like yourself as your belly and body grows.

3 Things That Will Turn Your Clothes into Maternity Clothes:
Make My Belly Fit

I found Make My Belly Fit while googling jacket extenders. This is a great product that attaches to any jacket of any length (but it looks best on a zippered jacket) to add extra fabric to it so you can zip up your jacket OVER top your belly. The amazing thing about this product and this company is that the extender can also be used after the baby is born and you can wear the baby and zip up your jacket over top the baby carrier. In my first pregnancy I was my biggest in the Summer, but I did find that in the winter, my jackets were VERY tight. Since I’m mostly pregnant in the Winter this year, and baby #2 will be born in February, I thought it would be a good idea to give the Make My Belly Fit Universal Jacket Extender a try. I’ve been using it for an entire month and so far I REALLY like it. It was easy to put on and use. I can already see how when I’m nearing the end of my pregnancy, it’ll be nice to actually zip up a jacket in the dead of winter while I’m out playing with Mikayla in the snow or walking the dog.

Rubber Brand or Hair Elastic

This is a classic, old school method that can help extend your normal pants to fit around your growing hips. Haha! It looks a bit silly but I loop a rubber band through the button hole, slip my pants on and stretch the rubber band over top the button. Then I usually put a Belly Bandit over top to smooth everything out and cover the zipper/fly opening. Here’s a tutorial!

Belly Bandit

I also really love using a Belly Bandit. I have 2 colours, black and white. I can wear normal skirts or jeans and wear the Belly Bandit over top the waistband to keep my pants closed… LOL and to extend my tops.

Thank you to our friends over at Make My Belly Fit for partnering with me on this post.
